Tips for choosing a Gynecologist who is right for you

 1. What hospital does the doctor use? Doctors usually have privileges with a certain regional or local hospital. If you have a strong preference for a hospital in your area, check to be sure that’s the hospital your prospective doctor uses. If you’re planning to deliver your baby in a hospital, you may be able to tour the labor and delivery facilities in advance. It could influence your decision for or against a particular doctor. 2. What certifications does the doctor have?  Certification is an added level of education that indicates a doctor is an expert in a particular field of medical practice. The Medical council of India and local medical council specialties provides a database of board-certified doctors you can search.  When doctors maintain board-certified status, they are required to stay up to date on research and practice standards. Board-certification status is ongoing. It’s not a one-and-done test. You may want to ask about your doctor’s subspecialties. Some...

Labiaplasty – the best cosmetic Gynecologist in Delhi

Image
A labiaplasty is a surgical procedure done to reshape the labia minora—the inner “lips” of the vulva. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the number of people seeking to alter the appearance of their labia has been increasing since the organization began keeping track in 2015. The 2016 ASPS statistics report showed a 39% increase in the number of labiaplasties performed that year. News reports about the growing popularity of labiaplasty might have you believe women are having it done for cosmetic reasons, based on a desire to conform to what they’ve come to believe is normal or more attractive. This likely is far from the main reason most labiaplasties are performed, however. Why Have a Labiaplasty?   Labia size and shape is as individual as eye color, and the range of what's "normal" is wide and deep. However, when a person's labia are especially elongated, the excess tissue can cause discomfort or get in the way of normal function. An athl...

Low lying placenta in pregnancy

Image
What is placenta previa? Placenta previa, or low-lying placenta, occurs when the placenta covers part or all of the cervix during the last months of pregnancy . This condition can cause severe bleeding before or during labor. The placenta develops in a woman’s uterus during pregnancy. This sac-like organ provides the developing baby with food and oxygen. It also removes waste products from the baby’s blood. The placenta is also referred to as “afterbirth” because it exits the body after the baby is born. During pregnancy, the placenta moves as the uterus stretches and grows. It’s normal for the placenta to be low in the uterus in early pregnancy. As the pregnancy continues and the uterus stretches, the placenta typically moves to the top of the uterus. By the third trimester, the placenta should be near the top of the womb. This position allows the cervix, or the entrance to the womb at the bottom of the uterus, a clear path for delivery. If the placenta attaches instead to the lower p...
